Host your Championship at Paignton Sailing Club

Set on the superb sailing waters of Torbay, and with access to some of the best resources and Race Officials in the UK. Located in the centre of the "Bay" with clear winds in any direction, Paignton Sailing Club is a perfect venue to host your National or major championships.

Sailing Venue

Torbay has regularly been described as one of the best pieces of sailing water in the UK, if not the world, having hosted many National, European and World Championships, plus the Olympic Sailing Competition in 1948.

As an East facing bay on the South coast, Torbay offers predominately offshore winds which provides safe but challenging conditions. Coupled with slow but complex currents, racing in Torbay always provides a tactical challenge.

Resources & Facilities

On-the-water With access to several large committee boats, plus our own small launch enables us to run racing for several courses at once if necessary. In addition, we have access to a large number of RIBs, plus buoys and all the other Race Management and safety equipment needed to host large events.

Race Officials  With access to an International Race Officer, two National Race Officers, and a large team of experienced and capable mark layers, judges and safety boat drivers, Paignton SC has a Race Management team to rival much larger clubs.

Shore-side facilities  Paignton has access to a large grassed area for storing over 200 dinghies for championships with sandy beach launching plus an enclosed harbour for RIBs and other support craft. Our clubhouse can accommodate over 100 guests for an evening social with plenty of scope to expand if necessary. We can also provide additional space with marquees on the harbourside for larger events. We also have changing rooms and an office which doubles as a classroom for training, and a race office for events. PSC is famed for its reasonably priced and well-stocked bar, as well as superb catering.

As a popular tourist destination, the English Riviera offers lots of things to see and do for friends and family, plus a large choice of accommodation, restaurants and bars.
